Bee Swarm Removal Service
in Sonoma County and Marin County
Bee Extractions
There are two kinds of bee extractions. One is capturing a swarm of bees outside on a tree,
fence or bush. The other is a wall extraction, where the bees have moved into a wall of your
house, barn or garage.
Honeybee Swarms
If you have a cluster of bees on a tree, fence or wall, there are things the beekeeper needs
to know:
What is the property address with cross streets?
What is the actual location of the swarm on the property? (Ten feet up in a tree?)
Are they really honeybees? If they come out of a hole in the ground, they are yellow jackets. If they are dull yellow, they might be honeybees. If they are in a mud nest or a paper cone, they aren’t honeybees!
How long have they been there?
How big is the swarm? Baseball, football, basketball sized?
Who is the contact person, and what is the phone number?
What NOT to do:
Don’t spray the bees with poison, water or anything. Do not try to interfere with the swarm.
The swarm will hang there until the scout bees have found a new home for them to move into.
This could be 2 hours or 2 weeks. If the bees just got there, their stomachs are full of honey.
If they have been there several days, they are getting hungry and may be more aggressive. If
the bees are not on your property, then you MUST have the ok of your neighbor and the
beekeeper has to speak with them, before removing the bees.
